About Phil

A QS in the Passivhaus world — and why that matters

I'm Phil Brown, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Certified Passivhaus Consultant based in Devon. Most Passivhaus consultants come from architecture or engineering. I come from cost and contract management — which means I think about buildings not just as energy performance targets, but as things that have to work commercially and be built by real people on real budgets.

That's the perspective behind both practices. Whether it's PHPP modelling or contract administration, the work is grounded in the same thing: clear thinking, honest advice, and outcomes that hold up in the real world.
